An exceptional piece in the Louis XV style, this mid-20th-century desk combines classic French elegance with refined craftsmanship. Made from kingwood, the desk is adorned with intricate marquetry inlay featuring delicate foliate motifs, which gracefully cover the entire top, front, and sides. The top is elegantly shaped, framed with sweeping gilt metal that adds a refined touch to its profile.
The front of the desk features five drawers, offering practical storage while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic. The marquetry continues along the sides and back, allowing the desk to be proudly displayed from all angles, making it perfect for a central room placement.
Supported by cabriole legs outlined with pinned ormolu metal and finished with fine sabots, this desk exudes timeless French style. In good original condition, it exhibits minor surface wear and slight veneer aging, consistent with its age, enhancing its character.
