Charming Early 19th Century Oak and Burr Elm Inlay Dresser Base This stunning early 19th-century dresser base, crafted from late Georgian oak and adorned with intricate burr elm inlay, is a remarkable piece that beautifully combines historical craftsmanship with aesthetic elegance. Its design reflects the sophistication and functionality of the period, making it a valuable addition to any collection or home setting. Burr elm crossbanded top with moulded edge above 2 long and 2 short burr elm cross banded drawers. The central section with 3 graduated burr elm crossbanded drawers flanked by panelled cupboard doors with marquetry inlaid star. Original brass handles. Excellent colour and patination. The moulded oak panelled sides with moulded detail to the frame and pinned construction speak to the meticulous craftsmanship of the era. The outstanding rich warm colour and patina of the elm wood reflect its well-preserved condition and add a sense of warmth and history to any space. This dresser base cupboard is not just a piece of furniture; it is a testament to the enduring quality and beauty of late 18th-century, early 19th-century English craftsmanship.
