Exceptional Triple Dresser and Mirror by Unagusta
About the Item
Exceptional piece by Unagusta. 64.5" wide, 32.5" tall and 21.25" deep. The mirror is 55.5" wide, 35.75" tall and the special plinth used when mounted to the dresser adds 1.5" in height). A avant-garde company before a fire destroyed the factory in NC in 1955 although some operations kept going into the 60's. Their designs were intricate, modernist, leading and they were renown for high-end pieces. This triple dresser comes with an immense mirror that can be mounted on the dresser top or wall hung. It has a small plinth base that can be removed if you wish to mount it to a wall. We have 2 pieces from this company. Remnants of labels in drawers of both examples.
Exceptional minute details, finger pulls beneath the 8 large drawers - all curved and is complimented by a central bank of four drawers behind a cabinet door. Brass toned hardware to the front feet and above.
An extensive restoration has been done with all drawers clean. Contains Black American Walnut, oak and mahogany in the construction. Only 1-2 very minor blemishes now exist. The finish is Krystal by M.L. Campbells and is a superior 2-part varnish that will protect the dresser for decades. Satin sheen. Common problems with water stains from hot and cold beverages or vases will not mark the surface. Nor will alcohol. Superior resistance to marks and scratches and requires no cleaning agents.
