About

A chest of drawers in teak by Svend Madsen for Falster, 1960s. This is a gem of Scandinavian craftsmanship with features that made it costly to produce at the time: the elegantly radiused drawer pulls and complementing bullnosed front edges, the use of solid plywood for the case frame and mahogany for the drawer frames, and a fully-finished and bookmatched back. The two top drawers are shallower than the rest with the one on the right having sculptural, integrated dividers. The paddle-shaped feet perfectly complete the overall design.
