About the Item

Art Deco Copper and Bronze Bar - Hotel Reception - Counter Front Originally crafted as a high-value shop facade for jeweler D.A. Schmidt at Kalverstraat 184, Amsterdam, in 1928, this large copper facade was designed by architect G.J. Rutgers and executed by Winkelman & Van de Bijl. The piece, which has been carefully removed from its original location, is now available in our collection. It is perfectly suited to be repurposed as a striking bar front or similar feature in a restaurant or gastro bar. Imagine it illuminated from behind with LED lighting, creating a dramatic and captivating effect. Although it reflects the Amsterdam School style, the piece also exudes the grandeur and elegance reminiscent of the Empire State Building era. Wouldn't this exceptional piece make the most spectacular and beautiful Art Deco bar, embodying the Roaring Twenties at their peak? In the last photos, you can see the facade as it appeared in the 1920s, and in the black-and-white photos, you can see the facade in 1968 from both the outside and the inside of the shop.
