Black Table's signature Column Chest is the studio's proudest creation. This piece truly represents the heart of the studio: architectural concepts compacted into single pieces for living spaces. The New York Times noticed Carlos' technique: "To avoid the awkward appearance of seams, he created rounded corners where individual panels connect." Sure, we use it as a bar, since it’s in our nature, but our Column Chest can become anything you want.

Architect CARLOS MEZA holds a B.A. from Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia
and an M.A. in Advanced Studies Design from Pratt Institute in New York City. In 2005,
Meza was awarded a commission to design a public library for the city of Villanueva,
Colombia. The project has been widely praised in journals as well as national and
international publications, including an honorable mention in the Colombian Architecture
Biennale. Meza has also designed projects in China, the United States and worked as
3D Modeling and Digital Fabrication adjunct professor at Cooper Union University in
NYC (2014-2016).
BLACKTABLE Studio was born in 2013 as Carlos Meza’s personal response to the
corporate architectural life he experienced in his first years living in New York.
