Cocktail bar with bar stools, faux suede, aluminum, chrome-plated steel, smoked glass, mirrored glass, lacquered wood, Italy, 1970s
Hollywood Regency cocktail bar in the style of Willy Rizzo. This set includes a counter element, an illuminated cabinet, and pair of bar stools, featuring soft and reflective textures. Both the elements contain mirrored glass panels alternated by black fabric sections. Cup holders in aluminum are spread along the tops. The way the different materials, colours and textures combine results in a luxurious and bold appearance.
Willy Rizzo (1928-2013), born in Naples, was a celebrity and Hollywood photographer. His models include Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn. At a later stage in life, Rizzo discovered that his clientele loved his particular aesthetics and sense for style so much that he decided to design furniture. Often his design where commissions from for example Salvador Dali or Marilyn Monroe. From the end of the 1960s onwards, Rizzo designed about 30 different furniture pieces.
Kindly take note that this item is in good, used condition with traces of age and use. Scratches and dents are present on the cup holders. The glass shelves need to be replaced. A metal plinth appears to be detached. Restoration can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
