About the Item
The Holy Mountain emerges as an enigmatic monolith, its faceted pink resin surface evoking the raw geometry of an otherworldly rock formation. At first glance, it appears as a singular, immovable mass—solid, impenetrable, and self-contained. Yet this illusion is swiftly undone.
Seamlessly splitting along an angular seam, the object reveals its dual nature: one side punctuated with openings that function as a bar, the other pulsing with sound through an integrated speaker system. This deliberate contrast lies at the heart of The Holy Mountain: an exploration of solidity and transformation. What seems fixed and monolithic is, in fact, fluid and adaptable.
Resting on discreet casters, the object shifts effortlessly through space, opening and unfolding to reveal new functions and identities. Its vivid pink hue further disrupts expectations, casting the geological form in a surreal, synthetic light.
More than a functional piece, The Holy Mountain embodies a playful tension between permanence and change, mystery and revelation—a relic from an imagined landscape where objects transcend singular purposes and become immersive experiences. The inner curves of the monolith host a bar cabinet on one side and a listening device on the other. Sound emanates from an integrated system, hovering like an abstract ornament nestled within the resin’s flowing contours.
This work marks the first collaboration between Objects of Common Interest and ODA.
The Holy Mountain was part of the performance Exhibition "The Theater of Things" the show transformed the gallery into a domestic stage — an ever-evolving space shaped by the creative voices of seven designers. Each night, one of them slept in the space. Each morning, a journalist, curator, or critic joined for coffee and conversation — exploring what it means to live among collectible pieces.
Inspired by radical gestures like Gianni Pettena’s La Casa all’Elba and Joseph Beuys’ Coyote performance, the exhibition is both lived experience and open dialogue.
Limited edition.
Standard production time is approximately 8–9 weeks once current stock is sold out.
One piece available for immediate delivery. For projects involving multiple units, production time may vary.
The bar cabinet is also available for purchase without the ODA listening device upon request.

Contemporary with dynamite exploded 'Lose control' cabinet
Located in 1204, CH
One-of-a-kind Sideboard.
The object is made from a Metal Volume that has been spontaneously shaped by an explosion, and hand treated to reach a soft touch. Part of a series of three furniture pieces, Metal Volumes have been exploded at various energy levels in a sequence of crafted detonations. These elements have been treated to reach a completely unique aesthetic and feel. The process and the inherent uncertainty of the outcome is a defining element of the work.
The production of the explosions takes place in the Portuguese countryside with a team of explosive ordnance experts, and has been recorded into a film directed by Frederico Velez. “We are not able to control anything but our attitude regarding life, and even that is at some point uncontrollable. Lose Control is a liberation of energy, a constructive loss of control”.
