Very Rare Regency Hardwood Cellarette of Sarcophagus Form Raised on Turned Legs

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for auction this exceptionally rare Regency Mahogany Cellarette of Sarcophagus form in solid mahogany on turned legs A very good looking and well-made piece, it has a nice size table size to it, the internals have dividers to house four to six bottles We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, it has age related patina marks here and there, it is period Regency so over 200 years old from new. There is a think timber split in the top and the lock and keys are temperamental Dimensions:  Height 58 cm Width 43 cm Depth 29.5 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point The box has been cleaned waxed and polished from top to bottom, it has some light scratches in one place on top, a small piece of the carved foot is missing, I can have it replace for a small fee, the whole thing can be French polished and made to look gallery ready, personally it looks perfect as it is This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE  Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
