19th Century Cuban Mahogany Wood Bargueno Desk

About the Item

This Bargueno desk is hallmarked Garcia & HN Monte #122 Habana. It is embellished with a carving scene from the book of Don Quixote de la Mancha bordered with branches of leaves. The desk is supported by a pedestal joined by a bridge of turned columns. The front legs contain a carving of two wind god heads with an acanthus bib scroll leg. There are two hidden wood supports that can be pullout / pull-out in order to keep up the door. Also, it has a key that is used to open the front panel that has to be pull down. Once opened you will find various compartments and drawers that you can use to storage your treasures.
