19th Century Dutch Bleached Oak Secretaire

About the Item

The secretary made of Dutch oak from the 19th century rich in decorations consists of an upper and lower part. The upper part is hinged to the front. The flap sits on two pullouts that must be pulled out first. In the inner part of the secretary there are many small drawers and various secret compartments, as can be seen in the photos. The writing surface is made of a black fleece. The lower part of the secretary consists of three bombé drawers with beautiful decorative original bronze fittings. Wavy base with splayed carved feet. The furniture is made of oak wood that was first sandblasted and then bleached. The beautifully curved fittings are made of brass.

    Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The furniture was completely sandblasted from the outside, which very already brings out the grain of the oak. The oak wood was also bleached. All locks are functional.
