19th Century Industrial Rolling Shoe Rack

About the Item

Industrial rolling shoe rack, c. late 19th century. These shelf units are so versatile and great for almost anything. Originally used in a shoe factory to transport product from one step to another in the manufacturing process. It features four shelves on unique, original casters which allow the unit to be moved very easily in all directions from any stopping/starting point. The shelves are pitched ever so slightly towards the front and a dowel rod runs between the sides to keep items secure. The rack has a nice time-worn patina with hints of black paint. It is sturdy and all parts are intact. An attractive and useful piece for any room in your home or studio. Nice as a wine rack, for clothes, shoes, plants, pantry items or books.
