Cado Shelves

About the Item

Selection of bookshelves, designed by Poul Cadovius for CADO, Denmark, circa 1960s. They are priced at $200 each and include two metal mounting brackets for each shelf (a right and a left hand bracket). We get these in and out all the time. These measure: Top left, 31.5" H x 14" W. Top right, 31.5" H x 16" W and 23" H x 9.5" W. Bottom left, 31.5" H x 9.5" W. Bottom right, 31.5" H x 8" W.

Trained as a saddler and upholster, Cadovius became interested in industrial design and established his own furniture manufacturing company under the name of Royal Systems in 1945. Between 1964-1967, Cadovius purchased the well-established furniture manufacturer France & Søn and renamed the company Cado. Cadovius collaborated with the impressive roster of iconic Danish designers through France & Søn and Cado, including Sigvar Bernadotte, Grete Jalk, Arne Vodder, Edvard Kindt-Larsen, and Finn Juhl.
