Pr Hollywood Regency Étagères in Chrome and Brass, Attributed MasterCraft C.1970

About the Item

This pair of étagères exemplifies the sleek opulence and architectural clarity of Hollywood Regency design as reinterpreted in the 1970s. Each open-form shelving unit is constructed from polished chrome-plated steel, accented at the corners and junctions with sharply defined brass fittings. The design is composed of five tiers of clear glass shelves, including a deeper top tier supported by elegant brass brackets shaped in an angular, stylized arcade form—part Art Deco, part Neoclassical flourish. The structure is rectilinear, with rounded vertical supports capped by cast brass cube finials, each featuring triple fluted panels that recall both Greek key motifs and streamline modernism. Additional brass collars and socket-style connectors reinforce each corner intersection and lend a touch of warm contrast to the otherwise cool chrome palette. These étagères bear all the hallmarks of either MasterCraft or Design Institute of America (DIA), both manufacturers known for their production of high-end, minimalist furniture using mixed metals and glass. Measures: 30.5" w x 15.5" d x 70.5" h.
