About the Item

Romeo Rega Geometric Chrome and Glass Étagère with Sculptural Top and Base, Italy, 1970s A striking chrome and glass étagère by renowned Italian designer Romeo Rega, dating to the 1970s. This architectural shelving unit showcases Rega’s hallmark blend of crisp geometry and refined glamour, distinguished by its bold geometric forms at both the base and the top. The design features two trapezoidal supports converging at a central point at the base, echoed in an inverted configuration at the top, creating a visually balanced and sculptural composition. Four substantial tempered glass shelves (each measuring 58.5" W x 14" D) rest within the gleaming chrome frame, with a vertical clearance of approximately 13" between each level. The shelves are fully removable for reconfiguration or cleaning, enhancing versatility. The polished chrome structure reflects light and surrounding colors, giving the piece a dynamic, almost floating presence despite its generous scale. Measuring 59" W x 71" H x 15" D, this étagère offers an elegant stage for displaying decorative objects, books, or art glass. A superb example of Italian 1970s design, it would work equally well in modern, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic interiors. Condition: Very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Chrome retains a bright polish; glass shelves are clean and free of major scratches.
