The trunk’s part identified as a “book” inspired the design of this modular and self-supporting bookcase, available in variable dimensions. Slabs of petrified wood rest on curved metal surfaces, creating several overlapping layers. Classical principles of architecture inform this simple unit of shelves, bringing together horizontal and vertical elements in perfect harmony. Columnata took its name from its underlying inspiration and a frequent reference in Tusquets’ work, the column.
