This muted beige and brass sideboard and display cabinet combo, designed by 70s powerhouse Renato Zevi, is a fine example of the marriage of function and elegance that defined the era. Two low and wide cream veneered wood bases support a four-tiered smoked glass display cabinet, all with brass finishings. Each display base features two doors with brass handles, and inside singular shelves. This display cabinet is most commonly found with a black finish, and as such the pastel cream colour is a real rarity, perfect for either the modern or vintage home. These magnificent display cabinets came from an upper east side home in NYC. They appear to be custom made and possibly Maison Jansen. They are solid brass with a lacquered wood finish. There is tempered glass on the back and the sides along with four push front glass doors on the front of each cabinet. Each cabinet has five glass shelves. This high quality display cabinet, by architect Fabrizio Smania for Studio Smania Interni from the “Serie Mitzar” line is made of veneered bird’s-eye briar wood, on the late 1970s early 1980s. In a striking golden yellow/lime hue, the tall cabinet houses four glass shelves, and is anchored by a two-door cabinet with generous storage space at the bottom. With Memphis Milano movement references. This is an extremely rare piece as they only did a very small production of these tall cabinets and this finish.
