Antique Edwardian Mahogany Inlaid Sideboard by Hamptons and Sons

About the Item

Antique Edwardian mahogany inlaid sideboard by Hamptons and Sons, Pall Mall, London having the original brass rail to the back and a superior quality inlaid mahogany bow front top, bow front drawer to the centre with attractive original brass handles and flanked by two figured inlaid mahogany doors with original brass handles which open to reveal fitted interiors. It is raised on eight elegant square tapering legs with spade feet. Hamptons and Sons was opened in 1830 by William Hampton; their furniture became popular during the Edwardian era amongst the upper class. They made the furniture for the Park Lounge in the Dorchester Hotel in London and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Hampton & Sons had the Royal Warrant of Appointment to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. A very elegant and beautifully designed piece in wonderful original condition. Dimensions: H 94cm (37 in) W 182cm (71.7 in) D 54cm (21.3 in) Dated 1900.
