Antique Swedish Black Country House Sideboard
About the Item
Antique country house sideboard from Sweden made during the early 19th century, around 1820. The sideboard is a genuine Swedish antique country house furniture with solid craftsmanship and attractive proportions. It is made by hand with a frame in solid pine and has the classic straight shape of the period. Original working lock and key and old hardware.
The interior of the sideboard is bare wood and has never been painted, allowing the pine to age naturally to the warm patina it has today. Another great detail is the back, it’s made of only 4 wide boards of wood. The paint has some distress which allows the pine underneath to shine through in places and creates great contrast to the dark paint.
