Best Quality Grand English Adams Paint Decorated Satinwood Sideboard Buffet
About the Item
This is one of the very best Adams paint decorated and satinwood sideboard or buffet. The painted scenerey is absolutely breathtaking and unlike inlay, once paint is laid down on wood, it can't easily be fixed or redone. The fact is painted items like these often last for centuries with a modicum of care while inlay can lose its glue bond and fail. That's why painted pieces like this, especially in this condition, are often more coveted than inlaid pieces. The piece is made to a grand scale as most Adams pieces are around 45-50 inches wide and the case is in excellent condition for its age with minimal signs of age or use as can be seen that will only include crazing to the painted areas and minor checking to case. Measures 61.25 wide x 25.75 deep x 39.75 tall and dates to 1900-1910.
