Gorgeous Early 1900s Antique French Renaissance Style, carved walnut sideboard! Antique Sideboard, French Renaissance Style, Carved Walnut, early 1900s, 20th century!! French Renaissance style walnut sideboard/ cupboard, 20th c., molded cornice and frieze, three cabinet doors with lion's mask, fruit, urns, foliate scrolls, on stand with three drawers, paneled back, turned and carved column supports, platform base with acanthus-faced edge, rising on bun feet, approximately 70.5" height, 80" width, 23" depth. Revival furniture simply refers to a furniture designer’s recovery of styles of the Past. The furniture and interior business of the 19th century saw an unprecedented series of revivals which brought back to vogue the styles characteristic of different historical periods. Classical Furniture underneath Francis I, France’s earliest Renaissance emperor, was mainly inspired by Italian designs.
