Luciano Frigerio Barium wood sculptural sideboard - Italian Design 1970

About the Item

Luciano Frigerio was a master cabinetmaker of Italian design especially at the turn of the 1970s, and with his furniture he always sought functionality and aesthetics. With the Sculptura99 collection, he created a collection of 99 sculptural pieces that integrated fine woods and workmanship into a series of functional and practical pieces of furniture. In 1970, Barium furniture was added to the collection, featuring irregular lath covers that called to mind the strong, rough axework aimed at bringing out the inner beauty of ebonized walnut wood. The large four-door sideboard with a four-drawer compartment has the original brass production mark and comes with the original certificate of authenticity. A solid, materic design piece with strong character and an elegant presence that is hard to ignore.
