Art Deco Display Cabinet in Golden Mahogany with Vitrine and Greek Key Shelves

About the Item

Stunning in concept and execution, this large, impressive Moderne-Art Deco cabinet consists of four parts, all centered around an internally-lit porthole vitrine with glass shelves and convex window, all finished in a golden flame mahogany that has a warm, lovely color. The vitrine and storage area below is flanked by two arms with shelves designed in a Greek Key form. At the center of each arm is a drawer fronted by black Vitrolite, an opaque structural glass popular in the 1930s. Below the vitrine is a storage area with three shelves and two doors. The locks have an American mark, and the original key survives. The four elements of this piece are easily separated for travel, and are fitted together via wood pegs.
