About the Item

A rare and impressive pair of large Palermitan display cabinets, dating from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1910). These vitrines are masterfully crafted in mahogany with rich patina and elegant brass mounts. Their elongated oval form, gently curved corners, and fine proportions make them striking centerpieces suitable for both commercial and residential interiors. The upper glazed section, fitted with original thick glass panels, was designed to present luxury goods or collections with maximum visibility. The interiors retain their original red velvet-lined display surfaces, adding depth and character. Below, the vitrines are equipped with multiple drawers and compartments, ideal for discreet storage. The cabinets rest on turned legs with classical detailing, enhancing their balance and elegance. Their craftsmanship reflects the refined cabinetmaking tradition of Palermo at the turn of the century, when Italian artisans were blending neoclassical inspiration with modern commercial functionality. Perfect for use in luxury retail, galleries, libraries, or private collections, these cabinets embody both history and timeless style.
