About the Item

Set of 2 A thrust sculptures by Scattered Disc Objects Limited edition 8+4 AP. Dimensions: Item 2: D 28 x W 21 x H 135 cm Item 3: D 37 x W 23 x H 133 cm Material: Travertino marble, bardiglio marble. Technique: hand carved marble, with sliding parts revealing small containers. Hand brushed. Available in other finishes, customizable design on request. Also sold Individually. A piece of marble is as unique as a fingerprint. It contains information on the history and the place from which it is extracted. The choice of a specific stone evokes lived experiences, visited places, and affections that belong to us, culturally and historically. In addition to some geopolitical interests which probably someone else would have investigated thoroughly. Nonetheless, it is mainly used only because of its appearance properties such as color and patterns. However, nothing is as definitive as stone. Let's imagine using marble by Virtue of its specific weight, a density that has made it a seal, ideal and eternal support capable of storing ancient information until today. A weight that makes a movement difficult and unexpected. Excellent for concealing an entrance, a secret compartment. We have designed an unusual container. Because containing something important is a fundamental task. Hard things hide precious ones. Soft things protect our affections. To contain is also to separate from the gaze, to make something private that only we know to be contained. It reveals a new story plan, a new setting. How many treasures have been hidden and never found again? Scattered disc objects is a design studio based in Piacenza and Tehran, founded by Bahar Pourmoghadam and MarCo Cattivelli. We deal with different scale objects and architecture. We are concerned with fabrication processes, geometry, traditional crafts, mechanical components, and non-business model-based projects. Each design is the product of an exercise, both intellectual and practical, in collaboration with outstanding craftsmen. Bahar Pourmoghadam (1984) is a Tehran-born architect, graduated from Politecnico di Milano, currently living and working in Milano. MarCo Cattivelli (1988) is an Italian architect, graduated from Politecnico di Milano. .

Set Of 2 Pilast Sculptural Side Tables by SNICKERIET
Located in Geneve, CH
Set Of 2 Pilast Sculptural Side Tables by SNICKERIET Dimensions: D 32 x W 28 x H 55 cm. Materials: Stone composite. Pilast can be customisable in color. Please contact us. Pilast is a sculptural piece of occasional furniture. It is inspired by the early 19th-century neoclassical style ’Swedish Empire’ and serves as both a side table and a stool. Pilast is crafted using traditional wood bending techniques applied to a modern, pure white stone composite. The result looks as if carved from marble, but a closer inspection reveals an unexpected precision in both material and shape. As an amalgam of classical clues, traditional craft, and modern material, Pilast has an unusual presence. SNICKERIET is a furniture studio with an explorative approach to traditional woodworking craft and philosophy. Projects are initiated as research into topics revolving technique, construction, decoration and material properties. The findings are released in the form of individual pieces of furniture. The studio was founded in 2011 and is based in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Karl-Johan Hjerling, designer, creative director, founder Gunnar Dahl, Production manager, founder Hannu Hietamäki, Lead cabinet...
