Two French Burnished Brass Art Deco Vitrines
About the Item
This pair of vitrines (display cabinets) are characterized by a restrained design typical of late period French Art Deco design. The vitrines sit on dark wooden bases. Wood is found again, though of a lighter colour, on the bottom of the interior, with a moulding featuring an elongated egg-and-dart motif. The predominant material of the pair is brass, which is finely burnished throughout. Plate glass forms the sides, tops, and three shelves of each vitrine. Each unit can be locked with a key and features a pair of handles, one upper and one lower.
