About the Item

19th century gilt painted wardrobe cabinet. A very special Qing dynasty dressing wardrobe cabinet elaborately decorated with fine and exceptional gilt painting. Landscapes of mountain villages, streams, and Pagoda styled buildings. The lacquer can be referred to as having a snake like skin or (alligator-ing) this happens through age. There are three drawers inside behind the doors and two lower drawers outside, all with working locks. In very good condition. Completely usable for everyday life. A very special piece. Guangdong Province, Chaozhou China 1880
