Pair Auffray & Co. Fine French Armoires with Carved Details
About the Item
A pair of twin Provincial French style medium size armoires from the great French maker Auffray. Tall, elegant 18th century style forms in honey tone wood in an antiqued finish. The shaped crest rail over a carved frieze with floral basket and acanthus scrolls. The double doors with carved panels opening to fitted interiors with open tops, a Pullout shelf and multiple drawers. The serpentine skirt rail with carved acanthus scrolls raised on cabriole legs in front, and curved in back. With Classic French metal mounts along with a key.
Auffray & Co. label inside.
Measure: height 90", weight 39 1/2", depth 22"
Condition: there are slight age and use related scratches to the pullout shelf otherwise very good and presenting exceptionally well good.
