19th Century Biedermeier wardrobe Austria Walnut Biedermeier around 1835 Dimensions: H x W x D: 189 x 137 x 62 cm Description: Antique wardrobe or coat cupboard with fantastic veneer pattern. Two-door piece of furniture standing on skirted square feet. Simple body in a strictly cubist design with fluted pilaster strips and corresponding moulding. The front view is dominated by six veneer leaves laid in absolutely calm symmetry. The key plates, typical of the region, stand out from the flatness. From the inside, the doors are secured against wood warping by two burr mouldings. The sides of the cabinet are veneered in a similar way to the front. The moulding at the head of the cabinet protrudes slightly beyond the carcase. The dimensions mentioned above are also taken here. Inside the cabinet there is a hook rail and three shelves. The usable interior depth of 51 cm is also suitable for using a clothes rail. We are happy to retrofit this on request. The wardrobe can be completely dismantled for transport. Condition: Very good restored condition. Slight lustre due to a shellac hand polish.
