Early 19th Century Antique Armoire with Original Folk Art Paint from Hungary

About the Item

This fabulous find is a wonderful example of original Eastern European folk-art paint of the 1800's. Notice hand-painted panels encircled with a male and female figure next to a large central planter. The warm, inviting earth-toned paint is accented with flourishes painted above and below the central figures and is echoed on the canted sides as well. The hand-painted faux wood background in brown was a traditional style of the era. The left door can be secured in place by using the original functioning iron latch while the right door may need to be held in place for the old lock to be secured with included key or buyer may choose to simply use the key as a pull. A single shelf remains inside. This wonderful wardrobe has been restored and waxed; while it shows expected age-related wear and distress including separation of back panels, cracks (see photos of doors), minor nicks/scratches it is strong/stable and ready to be used and enjoyed. ** In light of current affairs and fluctuating fuel prices shipping quotes and timelines are estimates only. Buyer is required to notify us upon purchase if there are interior or exterior stairs, steps, or freight elevators necessary to complete delivery. Firm shipping costs will be provided upon confirmation of delivery information. **.
