Original Green Painted Two Door Armoire, Hungary circa 1840-60

About the Item

This painted pine armoire still maintains the quality and details of the original hand-painted finish. The floral and geometric patterns against the green painted background were traditional folk art style elements of the era. This armoire was originally built to "break down" but at some point it was secured together. The interior has two shelves. The original door lock functions with key (1 included). This painted two-door armoire has been restored and waxed so it is strong, stable and ready to use. Age related wear include dings, old repairs, cracks, scratches, age related separation, distress to paint etc.; while seen throughout the armoire they do not detract from the beauty nor function of this wonderful folk-art find. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
