Empire Armoire, Vienna, circa 1810

About the Item

Empire cabinet with two doors, in solid and veneered walnut. The strict corpus is flanked by columns with floral ink painting on the capitals and bases. The straight profiled cornice with inlayed ornamental band with palmettes and stars completes the cabinet. The smooth doors are accentuated by radiating bronze fittings with keyhole covers. The interior division consists of a height-adjustable pull-out compartment, a clothes rail and several hooks on the inside of the door. The cabinet has been professionally refurbished and hand polished.
