About

This French armoire is a perfect example of French Provincial high country design. The armoire was made in the South of France from wild cherrywood But the furniture maker employed a more elegant, urban design (than the typical flowers and baskets of the area) created with a diamond chain design made by hand cutting staining and setting in smaller pieces of cherrywood to create an elegant diamond design on the crown and center front.
Original working lock and key
Restorations include 19th century replacement to back legs and replaced shelf.
