About the Item
Solid Piedmontese solid walnut cabinet, datable to the late 18th century (ca. 1780-1790). Beautifully crafted cabinet, characterized by doors with elegant vertical fluted paneling, typical of the late 18th-century rural Piedmont tradition.
The structure has well-balanced proportions and a beautiful projecting cyma on top. The doors, frame-mounted, retain the original wrought-iron lock and vent. The interior provides ample storage space, ideal for linens, trousseaux or wardrobe.
The cabinet can be entirely disassembled into two parts, a functional feature typical of alpine and Po Valley area cabinets of the period, useful for easy transport and placement even in homes with limited access.
Made of excellent quality solid walnut, the cabinet retains an authentic and pleasing patina. The structure turns out to be solid and stable, ready to be placed.
