Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this very rare and highly collectable Manhattan New York Art Deco Aluminum wardrobe with original Bakelite fittings circa 1920 Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price This has to be one of my absolute favorite antiques, its a Manhattan Art Deco piece meaning it was made in American and modeled after the Art Deco skyscrapers of the 1920's, you can see the Deco elements in the shape, tapering to the sides and of course the square top with central cap This piece is pretty much folk art now, it can still be used as a very cool wardrobe but it invokes a memory of a time long past which is what great art does This is an original patina finish meaning it shows all its original age, it can be polished to a mirror finish should the new owners wish, it would then be very shiny and take on a whole different look, I have left it as it is because its taken over 100 years to achieve this patina, it would be a shame in my opinion to clean that off Dimensions Height:- 183cm Width:- 102cm Depth:- 44cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
