About the Item

Bauhaus-style tubular steel bar/serving cart designed by Robert Slezák, Czechoslovakia, 1930s. Manufactured by Kovona in the late 1940s. Kovona was established in 1948 as an umbrella company for nationalized factories, including Slezák, Vichr, and other renowned tubular steel furniture producers in Czechoslovakia. The wooden components have been fully restored, while the chrome plating remains in very good original condition with a polished finish. A superb example of pre-WWII Czechoslovak functionalism.
