About the Item

This handcrafted, solid wood bar deviates from our usual stable, but we couldn't resist it's charm! The bar cart is fashioned to look like a wagon. It even comes complete with a leather and wood handle so you can pull the mobile bar to the desired location. Lift the top two serving trays to reveal a cavernous storage space. A handy rack allows bottles to be safely stored inside the wagon. Place your snacks or drinks on the top, and lift the trays to serve your guests. The trays and wheels are both adorned with ornate wood inlay marquetry of several different wood species. Do not pass up this one-of-a-kind bar cart! A singular statement of craftsmanship and decorative ambition, this bar server cart presents as much as a cabinet of curiosities as it does a functional piece. Designed with intentionality, its richly inlaid panels of contrasting woods form lush arabesque and floral marquetry patterns. Each motif is meticulously laid and seamlessly integrated into the design, demonstrating a mastery of veneer work and aesthetic balance. From its wheels and lower stretcher to the lift-up surfaces and framing elements, every element is harmonized into one coherent composition. The turned legs, casters, and structural members are scaled in proportion to the marquetry, creating tension between ornament and utility. The cart’s mobility reinforces its role: a work of furniture that moves fluidly within an interior, yet stops you with presence. The top surfaces, when opened or mirrored out, reveal concealed storage compartments thoughtfully designed for bottles, glassware, and bar accouterments. These hidden spaces lend practical depth to the decorative exuberance of the exterior. The interiors echo the care of the exterior finish — lined, organized, and carefully executed. The patina is original and resonant. Over decades, subtle aging has deepened the tone of the wood, softened edges, and enriched the color contrast across species. There is minimal wear only in areas that affirm its history of use — drawer lips, edges, or handle rims — all consistent with care, not neglect. Structural integrity remains solid, with no loosening of veneers or warping evident. As objects of elevated furniture and decorative design increasingly draw attention, pieces like this bar server gain leverage in the market. Its bespoke inlay work places it in a rarified category — not mass-produced, but crafted with dexterity, design intent, and visual poetry. For a collector or decorator seeking to blur the line between utility and sculpture, this server cart offers a rare opportunity. Let this piece serve as both a functional vessel and a visual anchor — a cart that invites drink service and conversation, that beckons the eye to linger on its surfaces, and that rewards every glance with detail, depth, and enduring architectural character.

Thomasville Embassy Wood Inlay Asian Modern Campaign Style Brass Accent Credenza
By Henredon, Drexel, Thomasville, Dorothy Draper
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Dorothy Draper style campaign credenza made by esteemed US furniture maker Thomasville circa 1970s. Old growth flaxen flared grain fruitwood (most likely pecan) from top to bottom are the hallmarks of the Embassy line. Black lacquer accents and brass pull hardware tie together British traditional and Eastern design. The door facades exhibit a diamond pattern wood inlay with contrasting color tones, presented tastefully to demonstrate a delicate ornate sensibility. Two large Interior cabinet spaces offer heaps of open storage with a single stationary shelf in each bay. No composite or MDF anywhere on this campaign credenza. Thomasville used a combination of solid hardwood interiors, solid fruitwood and veneers. We purchased this from the original owners out of time-capsule estate and nearly everything in the home was from the Thomasville Embassy...

Lighted Custom Made Modern Cherry Buffet Dry Bar With Wine Rack and Bar Cart
By Brown Saltman, Jens Risom, Foster-McDavid, Arne Vodder
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet...
