About The Maker

Francis Sultana Ltd

Francis Sultana Ltd

View Profile
Francis Sultana was set up his studio in 2009 to create interiors for many of his major art collector clients. The atelier and showroom are based in St James's in the same building as David Gill Gallery of which Sultana is also CEO. Francis Sultana is the go-to interior designer for international collectors, many of whom have major contemporary art and design collections. Loved for his unique ability to merge the residential requirements of a domestic space with often large scale visual art, sculpture and installation pieces, his studio is working on projects from UK and across Europe, the US and Russia. Alongside the interiors projects, the atelier also produces annual collections of bespoke and limited edition furniture and textiles under the Francis Sultana brand. Francis designs across interiors, furniture, lighting and accessories and has created key pieces for important historical interiors such as Spencer House. Both his furniture designs and his interiors favour the periods of the 1920s and 1930s, combined with a use of noble materials such as bronze. Francis employs artisanal skills and techniques across much of his work which is both limited edition as well as bespoke. Francis Sultana is featured in the prestigious AD100 list, cited as one of Wallpaper’s Top 20 Interior Designers, and listed on the House & Garden 100 and in AD France Top Interior Designers. He is the only British designer invited to join AD Collections 2017 in Paris.
