About the Item
In the 1930s, Shanghai, China was swept up in the Art Deco design movement, permeating every part of life in the bustling, vibrant city. This stylized table is a product of the time and exemplifies the qualities that make Art Deco so sought after: simple lines, striking colors, and bold geometric shapes. Comprised of carved hardwood, the stepped legs of the table support a circular panel of swirling black-and-white marble, held together by traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery.
