Danish Langeland Late 19th Century Oak Table with Carved Apron and Turned Legs

About the Item

A Southern Danish Baroque style oak center table from the 19th century, with single drawer, carved apron and turned legs. Created on the Danish island of Langeland during the later years of the 19th century, this oak table features a removable rectangular top with canted corners, sitting above an apron concealing a single drawer. Showcasing a turned wooden pull, the drawer reveals a dovetail construction demonstrating the piece's age. This apron is carved on all sides, the table will therefore be able to float and be seen from all angles. The table is raised on four Baroque style turned legs with bulging accents, resting on large bun feet. A plain H-Form cross stretcher connects the legs to one another and strengthens the ensemble. With its graceful Baroque lines and oak patina, this Danish Langeland oak table from the late 19th century will make for a wonderful addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or foyer.
