The powerful rosewood base, carved with waisted and knopped square, on a quatrefoil base on bun feet, supports a magnificent circular specimen marble top; extensive Grand Tour marbles are displayed in a checkerboard pattern, with sixty four examples including malachite, lapis lazuli, breccias, portoro nero, green porphry, and rare agates.
