Fine Antique French Neoclassical Hardwood Centre Table with Sphinx Pillared Base
About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning Antique French Neoclassical centre table with ornately carved Sphinx pillared legs which is part of a suite
This table is part of a suite as mentioned, I also have a rather lovely pair of large armchairs with the same Sphinx carvings on the arms, the chairs are not included in this sale but are listed under my other items
This table is a real tour de force of craftsmanship, clearly made for an exhibition, it dates to the late 19th century France, it would have sat in a lovely parlor or study
Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be normal age and use related patina marks here and there as you would expert from a period used piece
