About the Item
A very fine French 19th century Louis XV style giltwood carved figural center or hall table fitted with a Brêche violette marble top. The rectangular frame with four scrolled cabriole legs ending in hoof feet and conjoined with a center stretcher centered with a florette above a draped tassel. The intricately carved apron centered on all four sides with an allegorical mask of a maiden above scrolls and foliage, circa Paris, 1890.

- Condition:Repaired: Some minor touch ups to gilt. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. A beautiful and very decorative table. All gilt is original and has some minor touch ups, rubbing and old gold crackle. The very attractive marble top has some old restorations and in-filling on the veins and recently polished. Great for a foyer.
