French 19th century Charles X Period Mahogany, Maplewood and marble center table
About the Item
An impressive and most handsome French 19th century Charles X Period Mahogany, Maplewood and Toronto Grey marble library/center table. This stunning rectangular table is raised on six wonderfully detailed legs supported on square plinths and joined by a thick Mahogany stretcher inlaid with Maplewood filets. The four outer legs are accented with Maplewood inlays of classical maidens with their arms raised to support the large scale foliate branches leading up each leg. Each leg showcases an exceptionally detailed foliate capitol which support the Mahogany apron inlaid with Maplewood foliate reserves and centered by wonderfully executed inlays of men jousting on horseback. The central inlays are framed above and below by delicate Maplewood filets and flanked by large scale foliate movements. Above is the most impressive and thick Toronto Grey marble top, which follows the shape of the table.
