George II Mahogany Center Table

About the Item

Very fine George II period center table, circa 1745, the single plank vividly grained Cuban mahogany top having molded edge and reentrant "baby's bum" corners, over molded apron, standing on shaped cabriole legs having shell and bell flower carved knees, over ball and claw feet. Note: Center tables from this era are rare. Far more common are side/serving tables which would be finished on three sides. This table can free stand and all sides are finished equally.
