Italian 19th Century Neoclassical Empire Style Mahogany and Ormolu Center Table
About the Item
An impressive Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Mahogany, ormolu, and fossilized black marble center table. The table is raised by five elegantly curved legs adorned with beautiful pierced ormolu palmettes and richly chased acanthus leaves in a striking satin and burnished finish. The decagonal shaped central support displays a most decorative bottom acorn finial below a curved design and most elegant pierced ormolu mounts of finely detailed lyres with swan necks and charming swaging blooming flower garlands. The top repeats the same most decorative decagonal shape and retains its original fitted fossilized black marble top framed within a fine mottled border.
