About the Item
A superb Italian early 19th century Louis XV st. mecca, patinated, and veneered marble top center table. Raised on patinated off white cabriole legs with scrolled mecca trim and ornate with an acanthus leaf at the bottom. At the top of the leg, a large scrolled and pierced foliate design with a lattice background, and a vertical mecca floral garland below. The patinated off-white bombe-shaped center table with an opulent scalloped frieze is centered by a mecca rocaille shell amidst scrolled acanthus leaves. flanked by 'C' scrolls with a lattice background, this embellishment is the same on all sides. Above a moulded mecca trim followed by a striking molded and veneered "Incarnate Turquin' marble top that follows the contours of the bombe shape. Rich carving throughout.
