Japanese old wooden low table/1960/coffee table/wooden bench

About the Item

I would like to introduce you to a very cool low table. The top plate is an old work board used by Japanese craftsmen. In addition, the table base is made from a work board used by craftsmen in the 1900s. The table base and top plate are not fixed. There is writing on the back of the top plate, indicating that it was made in 1960. It is a very thick board with a thickness of 14.5 cm. It also weighs 43.8 kg, making it very heavy. The material is thought to be beech or horse chestnut. A stand for planing wood. That's why it's so big and thick. It's very tasteful and looks good. There is a slight twist due to the old solid wood. Therefore, if you look at the 10th image, there is a slight gap between it and the table base. However, since there is a rubber sponge in between, rattling is suppressed. You can use it with confidence. In addition to being a table, it can also be used as a bench. It is very stable and comfortable to sit on. This is a highly recommended item. size w106.2cm d38.3-39.6cm h40.5cm Top plate weight: 43.8kg Table base weight: 8.2kg

  • Japanese Old Wooden Box 1868-1900 / Antique Storage Sofa Table Coffee Table Side
    Located in Sammu-shi, Chiba
The wooden box made from the Meiji period to the Taisho period (1868-1900). The wooden box made by combining simple cedar boards. I think it was a box that contained some tools. For many years, soot from the hearth and other parts stuck together and accumulated, resulting in such a black appearance. Don't worry, this soot won't stick to your hands if you touch it. It has a very beautiful black color overall and a simple shape. Good condition. It is a nice wooden box that makes you feel very wabisabi. It is also nice to use as a table or exhibition stand. Things like this are not everywhere. It's rare. Also, in Japan, such things are becoming less and less common. We believe that it is our mission to convey the charm of such old things and keep them. There are few stores that sell such items at 1st dibs. We sell with...
