About the Item
n Exceptional Quality Early 19th Century Regency Period Mahogany Centre Table, Or Hall Table, Of Unusually Large & Bold Proportions, Having Superbly Figured Circular Tilting Top, With Wide Crossbanded Decoration And Carved Moulding To Edge, Raised On Extremely Elegant Triangulated Central Support, With Further Gadrooned Carved Decoration And Superb Scrolling Carved Feet With Concealed Castors.
This wonderfully attractive table is more significant in size than by far the majority of these types of table. It is also right at the top in terms of its quality and construction and stands with real elegance, class and sophistication.
It is very sturdy, due to the quality of the timber used throughout and its overall construction. In fact it is surprising just how heavy it is when picking it up and moving it, again demonstrating the fantastic overall quality.
There is some excellent carved decoration throughout and the panelled, triangulated, support column is also a great sign of quality, exuding regency charm, class and sophistication. The carved scrolling feet are also a particularly nice feature and the lovely top speaks for itself of course.
Perfect for a wide variety of different spaces around the home, or possibly even in a hotel lobby, this table has clearly been loved and cherished throughout its life, whilst also being very much functional and well used, which is something unlikely to change any time in the near future.
As with all items which we offer for sale this centre table has been attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained, traditonal antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale. This has ensured it is presented in excellent, functional condition.

(With a whole plethora of options available in terms of antique dining
tables it can be an absolute mine field trying to decide which suits each
individual purpose. This particular example is worth considering for a variety
of reasons, not least the fantastical overall quality and excellent choice of
timber selected. It also retains a good colour and patina. The extending
design is of the full out type which is generally seen in the earlier Georgian
and Regency versions, the wind out design more commonly seen is generally
regarded as a Victorian and later feature. Another advantage of this design is
that there is just the 4 corner legs which allow maximum flexibility in terms of
