About the Item
Bold, geometric table designed and manufactured by Harvey Probber. It has a cross-hatch pedestal base and an octagonal top of travertine mosaic outlined by a thick beveled wood framed edge in an ebonized finish.
Although there are no makers marks, this table has been featured in a 1957 publication: Furniture Designed by Harvey Probber.
You'll see this same table described in other listings as a dining table or game table but you should note that the table height is 25.5" (lower than most dining tables today). It seems more in line with a center entry table or hall table.
It is stunning but this piece is in original condition with some imperfections. There is crazing to the lacquer, some marks and scratches to the legs and hairline fractures in the travertine. (See close up images). It would look stunning restored.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. The table is structurally sound but it would benefit from refinishing. There are hairline fractures in some of the travertine insets (see close up images) and one water stain.
